What the board and the law publish

Each field carries its own source and the date it was checked. A field marked not published means the board's own pages were read and do not address it. Absence in what we checked is not absence at the board. A field marked unverified says what was attempted.

Continuing education
published The board's chiropractic FAQ refers CE questions to the healing arts practice handbook. Under the handbook copy of K.A.R. 100-15-5, you certify at least 50 credits in the 18 months before your license expires: at least 20 in Category I, at least one in Category III, and the rest in Category II. The regulation also provides 30-month (100 credits) and 42-month (150 credits) alternatives. Category III is an internet or live activity that also meets the Category I or Category II requirements and covers acute or chronic pain management, appropriate opioid prescribing, or use of prescription drug monitoring programs (K.A.R. 100-15-4(d)). The requirement does not apply to a first renewal. One credit equals 50 minutes of attendance (K.A.R. 100-15-4(e)). The license is renewed annually. On the expiration date, the board's pages give both January 31 and December 31. The FAQ page states that licenses expire on January 31st, and it also asks what happens if a license is not renewed by December 31st, answering that the late renewal cycle runs from January 1st to January 31st. The chiropractic application says January 31. The handbook copy of K.A.R. 100-15-1(c) says December 31.Source: https://www.ksbha.ks.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/186/638672564453800000 · https://www.ksbha.ks.gov/departments/licensing/licensing-faqs/doctor-of-chiropractic-medicine · https://www.ksrevisor.org/statutes/chapters/ch65/065_028_0009.html · https://www.ksbha.ks.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/306/638605235228430000 · checked 2026-10-04
