1. Advertising

2. Titles and claims

• Section 95. Whoever, not being lawfully authorized to practice chiropractic in this commonwealth, practices or attempts to practice chiropractic, or holds himself out as a practitioner of, or as being able to practice, chiropractic, or uses the science or system of chiropractic, or uses any of the titles, words or letters, ''chiropractic'', ''chiropractor'', ''chiropractic physician'', ''doctor of chiropractic'', ''D.C.'', or any other titles or letters, either alone or with qualifying words or phrases, in such manner or under such circumstances as to indicate that he is engaged in the practice of chiropractic, or whoever practices chiropractic under a false or assumed name or under a name other than that by which he is registered, or whoever personates another practitioner of chiropractic, or whoever buys, sells or fraudulently obtains any diploma, license, license renewal certificate, or record or registration to practice chiropractic, or aids or abets in such selling or fraudulent obtaining, or whoever practices chiropractic under cover of any diploma, license, license renewal certificate, record or registration to practice chiropractic illegally obtained or signed or issued unlawfully or under fraudulent representations or whoever being licensed to practice chiropractic in this commonwealth uses any title, words or letters which do not indicate that he is engaged in the practice of chiropractic, shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment for not less than thirty days nor more than one year, or both.M.G.L. c.112, Section 95 · malegislature.gov · Section95 · read 9 October 2026

• (a) For the purposes of this section, ''preceptor chiropractor'' shall mean a registered chiropractor authorized to practice chiropractic in the commonwealth who is: (i) designated by an approved chiropractic school or college as an instructor; and (ii) the chiropractor of record at the chiropractic facility to which a student extern is assigned.M.G.L. c.112, Section 91A(a) · malegislature.gov · Section91A · read 9 October 2026
• (b) An individual that is a current student enrolled in the final academic year at a chiropractic school or college approved by the board may practice the full scope of chiropractic under the direct supervision of a preceptor chiropractor; provided, that the student extern shall have: (i) completed all academic and clinical class requirements for the degree of doctor of chiropractic from a chiropractic school or college approved by the board; and (ii) passed at least 3 of the 4 levels of the examinations administered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.M.G.L. c.112, Section 91A(b) · malegislature.gov · Section91A · read 9 October 2026
• (c) The student extern shall practice under the direct supervision and license of the preceptor chiropractor and shall not be authorized to sign legal documents generally signed by the preceptor chiropractor; provided, however, that the board, in its discretion, may authorize a student extern to practice chiropractic pursuant to this section at more than 1 chiropractic facility.M.G.L. c.112, Section 91A(c) · malegislature.gov · Section91A · read 9 October 2026

7. Corporate practice and ownership

• (a) A person shall not engage in the practice of chiropractic except in a licensed chiropractic facility and provided the person is licensed by the board pursuant to section 91 or 92.M.G.L. c.112, Section 94A(a) · malegislature.gov · Section94A · read 9 October 2026
• (b) The board may authorize 1 or more licensed chiropractors, or any person employing a licensed chiropractor, to operate a licensed chiropractic facility if the facility satisfies the requirements established by the board by regulations, and upon payment to the board of an annual fee. • (c) A chiropractic facility shall not be licensed or operated unless the board has in its records the name and license number of the licensed chiropractor who is the chiropractor of record for that chiropractic facility. • A chiropractor whose license, certificate, registration, or authority relating to the practice is suspended for more than 1 year for professional misconduct with regard to insurance claims shall not own, operate, practice in, or be employed by any chiropractic or physical therapy office, clinic, or other place designated to the practice of chiropractic medicine or physical therapy until the license is reinstated by the board.M.G.L. c.112, Section 95 · malegislature.gov · Section95 · read 9 October 2026
