Master of Chiropractic, United Kingdom, with a second campus in Madrid. The first program documented here whose home country has a single statutory regulator and a protected title.
⚠ Worth checking before you apply, because this has changed. Third-party course listings of different vintages name BPP University and the University of South Wales as the awarding institution, alongside descriptions of the college as part of one or another university's school of health. We are using the college's own current statement and flagging that the arrangement has evidently moved. A degree awarded by a partner university is a different structure from a degree awarded by the college itself, and which partner it is affects what the certificate says.
In the United Kingdom, a single statutory regulator maintains one register, the title is protected, and a recognized degree is a stated pathway onto that register. A student can read one body's requirements and know what applies wherever in the country they end up practicing.
In the United States, licensure sits with fifty-plus separate boards. The jurisdictions documented here are listed on the licensure hub.
This is a fact about regulatory structure and publishing practice, not about which system produces better chiropractors. A single regulator is easier to read; that is all this observes. See the licensure layer for what the US picture actually looks like.
College The founding campus. unverified Its current location; third-party sources place the college in Oxfordshire and describe a founding as the Oxfordshire School of Chiropractic by John McTimoney, which we have not confirmed from the college.
College The GCC approved the Master of Chiropractic delivered at the Madrid campus following a recommendation from its Education Committee. The college states the Madrid campus also holds ECCE accreditation, making it the only institution in Europe with dual ECCE and GCC recognition, and describes this as a direct pathway to professional registration in the UK. unverified The date the approval took effect and its current standing.
unverified The college itself gives the honest version of this. Its course pages state that graduates can work in any country recognizing the ECCE and are eligible to sit entry examinations in most accredited areas worldwide — and then advise all applicants to check in advance the legal status of these qualifications in any countries or states that may be of interest to them.
That advice is correct and it is the same instruction this site gives. Three councils — the ECCE, the Australasian and the Canadian — publish a stated relationship through the Councils on Chiropractic Education International. Where the CCE in the United States sits is also published, and it is worse than an absence: the CCEI states it cannot speak to the equivalence of US programs because CCE-USA is no longer a member agency, and the CCEA recognizes CCE-US graduates only where the program was completed before 31 December 2017, so the question has to be asked of the destination regulator.
Ask the licensing board of the specific US state you intend to practice in, in writing, before you enrol. The jurisdictions documented here are listed on the licensure hub.
Sources and dates. Checked September 2026. Fields tagged College come from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic's own site at mctimoney-college.ac.uk — its Master of Chiropractic full-time and part-time course pages, its program overview, and its published news item on the Madrid campus gaining GCC approval. Where the awarding university is concerned, the college's own current statement is used and the conflicting third-party listings are noted rather than reconciled. Fields marked unverified were not found on the college's pages and are not filled in from anywhere else — including the GCC's continuing professional development requirements, which the regulator publishes and which are not restated here from secondary sources.
Nothing on this page is a ranking, a recommendation, or a comparison of quality. No school pays to appear here, to change a field, or to have a peer removed. Recognition, registration requirements and awarding arrangements all change; confirm anything decisive with the college, with the General Chiropractic Council, and — if you intend to practice elsewhere — with the regulator of that jurisdiction before you enrol.
