Palmer College of Chiropractic

Doctor of Chiropractic program. Two campuses publish 2026–27 tuition, in Davenport, Iowa and Port Orange, Florida. Every figure below comes from the college's own pages and carries its date.

Accreditation

Programmatic accreditation
The Doctor of Chiropractic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), as stated by the college. unverified The current accreditation term and next review date — the college does not state them on the pages we checked; the CCE publishes status by program and is the authority for it.
Institutional accreditation
Higher Learning Commission (HLC), for the Main and Florida campuses. The college states both the CCE and the HLC are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The Florida campus is additionally licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education.
Accreditation action, as the CCE announces it
published The Council on Chiropractic Education’s announcement dated February 13, 2026 (Council meeting January 16-17, 2026) states: The following are final accreditation actions taken by the Council at its January 2026 Meeting: It lists Palmer College of Chiropractic (PCC) with the action Continued: Following the status review meeting, the Council conducted deliberations and reached a consensus decision to continue the accreditation of the PCC doctor of chiropractic degree program. https://www.cce-usa.org/uploads/1/0/6/5/106500339/2026-02-13_accreditation_actions_announcement.pdf · checked 2026-10-05 No later announcement listed on CCE’s news pages names this program.
San Jose, California. published CCE's announcement dated August 8, 2025 lists Palmer College of Chiropractic West with the action Campus Closure https://www.cce-usa.org/uploads/1/0/6/5/106500339/2025-08-08_accreditation_actions_announcement.pdf · checked 2026-10-05
Other approvals stated by the college
Approved for training of veterans under Title 38, and approved for attendance by non-immigrant students. The college states it participates in the Yellow Ribbon program to the fullest extent, offering a year of full tuition to eligible veterans.
What this accreditation means for licensure in the United States
unverified No dedicated licensure disclosure was found on the pages we read. Absence in what we checked is not absence on the site. The Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards publishes the board-level answer — its Official Directory sets out, board by board, the criteria for obtaining and maintaining a license, including educational requirements and scope-of-practice summaries. See the FCLB entry on the organizations page. A student is licensed by a board, not by a council and not by a college. The licensure pages for where these campuses are: Davenport, Iowa — Iowa licensure →; Port Orange, Florida — Florida licensure →. Studying in a state is not the same as intending to practice there; read the page for wherever you intend to end up, and confirm with the licensing board there. The licensure hub lists every state documented so far. California is documented and is where Palmer's closed campus was, which matters if you are a graduate of it.

San Jose, California

Status unconfirmed in this pass
What we can and cannot say
College The California campus has closed, and Palmer published the decision itself. On its own blog, the College states: This spring, Palmer College of Chiropractic announced it will no longer enroll new students to its Northern California campus, and it plans to cease operations when the College's building lease expires in June 2025.

On what happened to students already enrolled, Palmer states: Striving to take the same care in carrying out the decision as it did in making it, Palmer plans to provide current Palmer West students the opportunity to finish their degrees in California through March 2025. Eligible students will also have the option to attend Palmer's Main or Florida campus.

Palmer is a two-campus program. The College's own admissions navigation offers two campus tours, Main and Florida; its 2026–27 tuition and cost-of-attendance page publishes figures for those two; and its accreditation statement names those two. Published 19 May 2022 and last modified 31 May 2023 on palmer.edu; the post was live when checked on 9 September 2026.

unverified Whether any teaching, clinic or administrative activity continues at the San Jose address. Palmer's published statement covers enrolment, degree completion and the lease; it does not say the site is vacant, and neither do we.

Why the difference between the two published campuses is almost entirely housing. Tuition is identical. Housing and food are published at $5,486 at one campus and $9,181 at the other, with further differences in transportation, books and loan fees. What the College publishes differently between the two campuses is the cost of living rather than the price.

Application fee $100 one-time · tuition deposit $200 · matriculation fee $150 one-time · activity fee $20 per term · liability insurance $245, charged once as a student enters clinical coursework. NBCE pass rates
Published. Findability path: two documents — D.C. Program Licensure Rates and D.C. Program Completion Rates — published as PDFs inside the Accreditation section of the About menu, alongside the college catalog and consumer information. Not linked from the site footer, so reaching them means knowing to look under About rather than under Admissions or Academics. unverified The rate figures themselves, which sit inside those documents and were not opened in this pass. That the college publishes them, and where, is confirmed.
What the board figure measures
unverified Not established in this pass. The college publishes the data, and what the figure counts — which examination parts, whether a time window applies, and whether any route other than examination is included — was not established from the documents reached. Absence in what we checked is not absence on the site; the two PDFs named above were not opened.

Colleges documented here state different measures under the same field name, so a percentage from one college and a percentage from another may not be counting the same thing. Where a college states its measure, this field carries it in that college's own words.

Publishing practice
Publishes an estimated per-term cost of attendance for one representative trimester, separately for each campus. Does not publish every term of the program, and does not show the prior year's figures alongside the current ones on this page.
Tuition adjustment notice
unverified No published statement was found on the pages we read about whether tuition and fees may be changed, by whom, or with what notice to students. That is a field, not an absence — ask the college if you are budgeting several years from the figures above.
Student organizations present
The college publishes a clubs and organizations directory, and a Center for Business Development for students. unverified Which specific student association chapters are active on each campus. Worth knowing separately: the college publishes a Pre-Chiropractic Club Funding page under admissions resources — funding aimed at undergraduate pre-chiropractic clubs, which is the earliest point at which any of this becomes reachable to someone not yet enrolled anywhere.

Student clubs and organizations

Palmer publishes clubs across five separate documents, and they do not agree with each other on which clubs exist, on which campus, or on who to contact.

One thing here that matters beyond this college

Palmer builds board examination fees into its cost of attendance, including one retake.

Its published cost-of-attendance policy states that students are provided an allowance for the costs of obtaining a state license through the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, in the term or year in which they could qualify to sit the exam — and an additional allowance for up to one retake of Parts I, II, III, Physiotherapy and/or IV, with documentation of the expense.

Board examination fees are $710 each for Parts I, II and III, $1,585 for Part IV and $450 for Physiotherapy, read 5 October 2026; the NBCE’s fee schedule prints no total. That money is not tuition and is not inside the federal debt figures. A college that puts it inside the cost of attendance is a college where it can be covered by aid rather than found from somewhere else in the final year.

We have not checked whether other colleges do the same, so this is not a comparison and must not be read as one. It is one college's published policy, noted here because it bears directly on a cost we document on the earnings page. Whether it is standard practice or unusual is an open question, and answering it properly means asking the same question of all nineteen programs at once.

Sources. Palmer College of Chiropractic's own published pages, checked September 2026: Tuition & Cost of Attendance (page last modified 7 May 2026, carrying the 2026–27 figures reproduced above), Accreditation, Admissions FAQ, Admissions and admissions resources, and the consumer-information section listing D.C. Program Completion Rates and Licensure Rates. Fields marked unverified were not found on those pages and are not filled in from anywhere else. Tuition and cost-of-attendance figures change annually — check the college's current page before budgeting, and confirm accreditation status with the CCE directly rather than with any third party, including us.

Nothing on this page is a ranking, a recommendation, or a comparison. No school pays to appear here, to change a field, or to have a peer removed. Every program is described in the same fields at the same length, including the ones we hold no content about.
