In compliance with 34 CFR 668.43, the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) at SCU provides information pertaining to professional licensure for the Doctor of Chiropractic program.
Students should refer to the information below and contact the appropriate licensing board to ensure they will meet the licensure requirements in the state(s) in which they intend to practice upon graduation.
LACC’s Doctor of Chiropractic program meets the educational requirements for licensure in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Some states have requirements in addition to educational requirements.
Neither acceptance for admission into the program nor the subsequent earning of a Doctor of Chiropractic degree guarantees that a state or foreign country will grant a graduate a license to practice chiropractic.
Each state and foreign country, through its legislative and administrative process, defines the standards of competency and scope of practice of chiropractic within its jurisdiction.
The following states require students to have a bachelor’s degree, in addition to a D.C. degree, to obtain a license:
In states above indicated with an asterisk (*) students must have completed a bachelor’s degree prior to matriculating into the D.C. program.
All international students are strongly encouraged to check the credentialing requirements in the country where they intend to practice.

By LIVING ARRANGEMENT, in a two-column annual COA table published on both programme pages: Estimated Annual Cost With Parent/Relative
against Estimated Annual Cost Off-Campus
. The only row that differs is Living Expenses.
BY CAMPUS, THE PUBLISHED FIGURES DO NOT DIFFER AT ALL - and the prose says they should. The Los Angeles page reads ...indirect costs associated with living and studying in California.
and the Phoenix page reads ...indirect costs associated with living and studying in Arizona.
The two tables beneath those sentences carry IDENTICAL figures, cell for cell, including the same Living Expenses, Transportation and Personal Expenses. Recorded as published; no inference is drawn about which is right.
Estimated Annual Cost of Attendance (COA), identical on both campus pages. Columns: With Parent/Relative
Off-Campus. Tuition $52,380
$52,380. University Fees2 $1,227
$1,227. Books, course materials, supplies, and equipment $2,301
$2,301. Living Expenses –
$32,748. Transportation $2,208
$2,208. Personal Expenses $7,608
$7,608. Loan Fees3 $1,245
$1,245. Total Estimated Annual COA $66,969
$99,717.
The en dash in the With Parent/Relative Living Expenses cell is SCU's own marker, published as –, and is reproduced rather than read as a zero.
Both totals are SCU's own published cells; the difference between them is not computed here. The tables are ANNUAL, and SCU states the year's shape: SCU's Doctor of Chiropractic program runs 3 terms per academic year
.
textTuition for the whole program. published $139,680
textCost of attendance for the whole program. not-published The document checked carries no figure of this kind for this program.
textAnnual tuition. published $52,380 | Published as the "Tuition" row of the Estimated Annual Cost of Attendance (COA)
table, "$52,380" in both the With Parent/Relative and Off-Campus columns, on both campus pages. SCU states the span: SCU’s DC program runs 3 terms per academic year; the “annual” COA reflects three terms.
How the figures are shown. published
EVERY TERM OF EVERY TRACK, with published totals. Los Angeles publishes two tracks: Doctor of Chiropractic 8 Terms, 202 credits
(Tuition $17,460 per term) and Doctor of Chiropractic 10 Terms, 202 credits
(Tuition $13,968 per term). Phoenix publishes Doctor of Chiropractic Accelerated 8 Terms, 202 credits
at $17,460. Fees are $409 per term throughout; Medical Equipment $1,275 and EXXAT Fees $263 fall in term 1; Petition to Graduate Fee $225 falls in the final term.
Each table ends in a published Totals row, and the annual COA table is published separately alongside. So SCU publishes per-term, per-programme AND per-year figures for the same programme.
TWO DATE FORMATS on one page: 2026-2027 academic year
and 2026/2027 academic year
, both present on the Los Angeles page.
Is a prior year shown beside the current one?
No. "2025-2026", "2024-2025" and "2025/2026" occur zero times on the programme tuition page.
textQualifier attached to the figures. published
DIRECT ABOUT ITS OWN WEBSITE: Tuition rates are subject to change and may not be reflected on this website or other SCU materials. Please contact us for the most updated information.
The second clause is a figure-status qualifier rather than a future-change clause - it tells a reader the number in front of them may already be wrong. Location: beneath the D.C. tuition tables on both campus pages.
Are board or licensure examination fees inside the published cost of attendance? published No. The board fee SCU publishes with a figure is not inside the cost of attendance: it is in the * footnote of the programme tuition table and is put outside that table's totals by the words can also expect to pay
. Ruled 2026-09-17 under Q10.
Mechanism recorded: noted outside budget
THE FEE, WITH ITS FIGURE, AS PUBLISHED IN THE TABLE'S * FOOTNOTE. Los Angeles: * DC Los Angeles students can also expect to pay $72 per student/preceptor or student/clinical rotation relationship to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners between terms 3 and 10.
Phoenix carries TWO such sentences, naming two states' boards, two amounts and two term ranges: * DC Phoenix students can also expect to pay $725 per student/preceptor or student/clinical rotation relationship to the Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners if/when required for their clinical experiences (terms 3-8).
AND, lower on the same page: DC students can also expect to pay $72 per student/preceptor relationship to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners between terms 3 and 10.
Both reproduced as published; which governs for an Arizona student is a question for the college and is NOT resolved here.
WHY THE MECHANISM IS noted outside budget: the fee is named, priced and tied to specific terms, and the college's own wording places it outside what the table totals. It is disclosed and not counted.
WHAT THE COST OF ATTENDANCE ITSELF CARRIES, recorded so the two are not confused: the Cost to Attend SCU
page lists, under Indirect Costs (Not Billed by SCU)
, the item Licensure or certification costs (for eligible programs)
. That is a CATEGORY WITH NO FIGURE, on a page that publishes no dollar amount anywhere - tested. So SCU names a licensure category in its budget without pricing it, and prices a board fee in a footnote outside its budget. Both facts stand.
textThe program’s own rate table. published Recorded as: no
Mechanism recorded for that table: none shown
The programme tuition tables carry no board or licensure row. Their columns are Term / Tuition* / Fees** / Medical Equipment / EXXAT Fees / Petition to Graduate Fee / Total Term Cost***, and Licensing Board
, "Board Fee" and "NBCE fee" occur zero times on the page - tested.
BUT A STATE-BOARD FEE IS PUBLISHED, WITH A FIGURE, IN THE TABLE'S OWN * FOOTNOTE, and it is excluded from the totals by the words can also expect to pay
. Los Angeles: * DC Los Angeles students can also expect to pay $72 per student/preceptor or student/clinical rotation relationship to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners between terms 3 and 10.
THE PHOENIX PAGE CARRIES TWO SUCH SENTENCES, naming two different states' boards, two different amounts and two different term ranges. * DC Phoenix students can also expect to pay $725 per student/preceptor or student/clinical rotation relationship to the Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners if/when required for their clinical experiences (terms 3-8).
AND, lower on the same page: DC students can also expect to pay $72 per student/preceptor relationship to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners between terms 3 and 10.
Both are reproduced as published. Which governs for an Arizona student is a question for the college and is NOT resolved here.
Coded "none shown" because the TABLE shows none. A fee disclosed by the table's footnote marker but excluded from the table's totals has no word in the Q6 vocabulary; logged as Q10 rather than forced into one.
textPublished on the programme tuition pages, in the table footnotes, and frank about the site itself: Tuition rates are subject to change and may not be reflected on this website or other SCU materials. Please contact us for the most updated information.
A second clause covers fees: Program fees listed are for the 2026/2027 academic year and are subject to change.
A third, on the Cost to Attend SCU page, covers the budget components: COA components are reviewed periodically and may be updated to reflect changes in costs.
The first tells a reader that the published figures may already be out of date on the page they are reading. Recorded as SCU publishes it.

Accelerated (8 Terms) | Standard (10 Terms)
The LA program is delivered in a high-residency format designed for students who benefit from consistent, in-person engagement. During the didactic phase, students attend on-campus classes approximately 2–5 days per week, combining live lectures with hands-on laboratory instruction. In the final two terms, students transition to full-time clinical education, applying their knowledge in real-world settings under faculty supervision. Select courses may be offered in blended or online formats to support flexibility, while maintaining a primarily on-campus learning experience.
SCU offers an embedded bachelor’s degree option for students pursuing the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). This option allows students who have not yet completed a bachelor’s degree to earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) while completing the DC program. The curriculum is designed so that many courses count toward both degrees, enabling students to complete their bachelor’s and doctoral requirements within the same timeline.
